Sunflower Biennial
Main Gallery February 3 - April 11, 2021
Admission is Free. Masks are required.
This year's Sunflower Biennial features 60 artists representing 28 communities and over 26 schools, colleges, and universities across the state of Kansas. The depth of breadth of work covers a wide variety of media and touches on everything from personal to the political, demonstrating how young artists can deliver powerful content while honing their technical skills and expertise. Masks make an appearance in several pieces, as artists grapple with the effects of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Environmental anxiety, issues of identity, and digital media also take center stage. Other artists focus on their personal lives and homes, reflecting on Kansas landscapes, close-knit communities, and family ties.
2021 Sunflower Biennial is sponsored by Great Plains.
