"A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith

"A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" is a 1943 semi-autobiographical novel that revolves around and 11 year old girl named Francie Nolan.  She lives in poverty with her quietly ambitious mother and alcoholic father in 1912 Brooklyn, New York.  The family undergoes many hardships throughout the coming-of-age-story.

Monday Night Book Discussion is a friendly book club that talks about a different title each month from a variety of genres.  Can't make it in person?  You can also attend via Zoom!  Upon request, a link will be sent to participants who wish to attend virtually.  This is located in the Campell Room.  Registration is required and opens four weeks prior to the event.
